I had to mop my face after listening to a 68-year-old keynote speaker tell his story of how he got his HiSet (formerly GED) two years ago in 2023. He had an incredible story to tell about a lifetime of obstacles he had overcome. He shared with us that he barely passed the Science section "with a 'C'...." that is CHRIST JESUS'. The excitement in the room for this graduation was like none I have ever attended. Every one of those getting their diploma has overcome many obstacles, including our most recent resident.
Meet Caylee. Caylee was already on a path to success when she decided to apply for Bridge housing. Do you know what it takes to "make it" into Bridge housing? The women who apply have to prove that they have already accomplished goals on their own. The number one thing we look for is a woman who is helping herself. Our part is easy. We just walk alongside them, cheering for them as they complete their goals and make good decisions. Occasionally, we may have to pause with them after a bad decision to evaluate where things went wrong to get back on track. Ultimately, they do the work. And if we are being honest, it is not every woman who wants to work this hard. But when they do, the sky is the limit.
Here is a list of some of Caylee's accomplishments before she ever got into our housing program:
Caylee has WHAT IT TAKES! We are confident about her future and that she will pass at least
"With a 'C'...that is CHRIST JESUS"!
Keep praying for Caylee's future! "...from where you are, to where you need to be."
